The Petdentist® range, organised by the five steps

Every product we sell has one job in a daily routine. Choose one for each hands-on step and you have a complete plan, not a cupboard of unrelated tubs.

Short answer: Petdentist® products are non-medicinal oral-hygiene products and complementary feeds for healthy dogs and cats, grouped by the Petdentist Daily System. Clean with toothpaste, a soft toothbrush or textured wipes. Support with a dental powder served over food by body weight. Maintain with a tasteless water additive and safe, supervised toys. Monitor with a weekly lip-lift, and keep Professional care, a veterinary dental check at least once a year, at the centre. Starter kits bundle the hands-on steps in one box.

One routine, not a shelf of products

Most pet dental products are sold as if each one were the whole answer. None is. A dog's or cat's saliva is alkaline, at around pH 7.5 to 8.5, and soft plaque can begin to harden into tartar within about 48 to 72 hours. Nothing in a tube, tub or bowl stops that clock; regular, gentle removal of soft plaque works with it. So we organise the range by the job each product does, and we say plainly what each one cannot do.

Choosing for your pet

Three questions narrow the range quickly. Which species? Cats need cat-labelled products and no hard chews; a dog-only product never becomes a cat product. What life stage? Puppies and kittens start with toothpaste licks, finger brushes and wipes; seniors need the softest tools and a vet check before a new routine. What size? Brush heads, toys and powder servings all follow the size of your pet, so weigh them rather than guess.

Clean: toothpaste, toothbrushes and wipes

Cleaning is the heart of the routine: disturbing plaque along the gumline every day. Use a pet toothpaste that is safe to swallow, a soft toothbrush or finger brush, and textured dental wipes for pets not yet ready for bristles. We officially distribute Petsmile® Professional Pet Toothpaste, which is VOHC accepted for plaque in dogs, and our own bamboo toothbrushes have ultra-soft bristles.

Support: dental powders

Dental powders are complementary feeds served over food once a day, measured by body weight from the pack. They support normal oral hygiene between cleans. Our range includes a kelp-based powder and two probiotic powders.

Maintain: water additives, toys and chews

A tasteless, odourless water additive in fresh water each day helps freshen breath without changing how your pet drinks. Dental toys and chews add a little supervised chewing for dogs: nothing harder than your thumbnail can dent, and no hard chews for cats.

Starter kits

Starter kits and gift packs put the hands-on steps in one box. Choose one to suit your pet's species and life stage, and follow our simple plan for the first week. They are the easiest way to begin if you are starting from nothing.

Monitor and professional care

The last two steps are not things you buy. Once a week, lift your pet's lip and look at the gums, the gumline and the breath (signs to watch). And book a veterinary dental check at least once a year: Petdentist CLINICS helps you find veterinary dental care near you.

Before you buy anything

Whatever you buy, from us or anyone else, read the label first: the species, the serving by body weight, the full ingredient list and what the pack actually promises. Our twelve checks before you buy take about a minute and apply to every brand, including ours.

What our products are, and are not

They are hygiene products, accessories and complementary feeds for healthy pets. They are not medicines, they do not remove hardened tartar, and none of them reaches below the gumline, where only your vet can clean and assess. Cats need products labelled for cats: no essential oils, no phenols, no high-iodine kelp and no hard chews. Every Petdentist® product is xylitol-free.

When to see your vet

If you notice loose or wobbly teeth, swelling, discharge, bleeding that does not settle, reluctance to eat, dropping food, drooling, pawing at the mouth or any change in behaviour, please contact your veterinary surgeon promptly. Home care supports professional care — it never replaces it.

Questions people ask

Frequently asked questions

Which Petdentist® product should I start with?

Start with cleaning. If your pet accepts a brush, use a pet toothpaste and a soft brush; if not, textured finger wipes along the gumline. Then add a dental powder over food and a tasteless water additive. If you are starting from nothing, a starter kit puts the hands-on steps in one box, with a plan for the first week.

Are Petdentist® products medicines?

No. They are non-medicinal oral-hygiene products, accessories and complementary feeds for healthy pets. They support normal oral hygiene as part of a daily routine, they are not a response to any disease, and they never replace veterinary care. Only a veterinary surgeon can examine your pet's mouth and advise on it.

Can I use the same products for my dog and my cat?

Only products whose label names both species, using the cat serving for your cat. Cats need their own rules: no essential oils, no phenols, no high-iodine kelp, no xylitol and no hard chews. A dog-only product does not become suitable for a cat because you give less of it.

Do I need every product in the range?

No. Clean is the heart of the routine, and if you can only manage one thing, make it daily cleaning along the gumline. A powder and a water additive make the results easier to keep between cleans, and toys are a bonus. Monitor and professional care are not products at all: a weekly lip-lift and a yearly veterinary dental check.

Where can I buy Petdentist® products?

In the UK at petdentist.co.uk, and on Amazon UK and eBay UK. In the UAE at petdentist.ae, and on Amazon.ae and Noon. Prices, delivery and availability differ by country, so choose your store from our country page. If you live elsewhere, you can register your interest there.

Does any product in the range carry the VOHC seal?

Petsmile® Professional Pet Toothpaste, which Petdentist® officially distributes, is VOHC accepted for plaque in dogs. That acceptance belongs to that toothpaste, in dogs. It does not extend to our other products or to cats. Our guide to what the seal on the tube means explains what VOHC acceptance involves.
