Short answer: Petdentist® operates an ISO 9001-certified quality management system (alongside ISO 14001, 22000 and 45001), releases every lot against a written specification with a certificate of analysis, keeps full traceability, reviews every product description for regulatory compliance in each market, and investigates every complaint under a formal procedure.
One quality system
Pet Dentist L.L.C-FZ is certified to ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment), ISO 22000 (food safety, appropriate to complementary feeds) and ISO 45001 (health and safety). In practice that means written procedures for supplier approval, ingredient specifications, incoming checks, batch release, complaints, corrective action, change control, document control, traceability and recall — and audits to prove they are followed.
Suppliers and manufacturers
Manufacturers and ingredient suppliers are approved before use and reviewed on a schedule. For critical products we work towards a qualified second source, so no single supplier can interrupt supply or quietly change a specification. Every ingredient has a dossier: identity, grade, supplier, specification, safety limits, regulatory status by market and the claims it can and cannot support.
Species safety
Cats are not small dogs. Our formulation rules exclude ingredients that are unsuitable for cats — essential oils, phenols and high-iodine kelp among them — from any product intended for cats, and exclude xylitol from everything. Serving guidance is stated by body weight and reviewed by our safety team; if your pet has a health condition, is pregnant or is on medication, ask your vet before introducing a new product.
Testing and release
Each production lot is released against its specification with a certificate of analysis covering identity, composition, microbiological limits and, where relevant, heavy metals. Stability and palatability programmes support shelf life and acceptance. Lots are traceable from supplier to customer.
Claims review
Every product description, label, listing, advertisement, article, video script and customer review that we publish is reviewed against the UK Veterinary Medicines Regulations (as enforced by the VMD), the UK advertising codes, UAE veterinary-product and advertising law and, for other markets, the relevant local framework — before it is published. Our products are non-medicinal; we describe what they do in everyday hygiene terms and never as treatments. Where a claim relies on evidence, the evidence is graded A to E and the strength of the claim never exceeds it.
Complaints and product-safety reports
Reports are acknowledged within 24 hours, logged, investigated with the manufacturer where needed, and closed with corrective action. Trends are reviewed monthly. If a report suggests any risk to animals, our recall procedure is ready. Please email [email protected] with the product, batch number and what you observed — and if your pet is unwell, contact your vet first.
What we will not do
We will not present a product as a treatment or preventive for disease. We will not use a dog study to make a claim about cats, or a human study to make a claim about pets. We will not publish reviews that imply a health outcome. We will not print an approval number we do not hold. When we do not know, we say so.
When to see your vet
If you notice loose or wobbly teeth, swelling, discharge, bleeding that does not settle, reluctance to eat, dropping food, drooling, pawing at the mouth or any change in behaviour, please contact your veterinary surgeon promptly. Home care supports professional care — it never replaces it.
