Clinics · Expert care in every community
Find veterinary dental care near you.
Petdentist CLINICS runs petdentalclinics.com, a directory of veterinary practices offering dental care in the UK, USA, Canada and UAE, with verified profiles and appointment requests. We help you find the right door. Your vet does everything behind it.
Petdentist® does not provide veterinary services and does not endorse individual practices.
What it is
The step no product can replace
Home care keeps plaque in check day to day. Everything else, from a proper look below the gumline to dental X-rays, cleaning under anaesthesia and extractions, needs a veterinary surgeon. Petdentist CLINICS exists to shorten the distance between noticing something and getting your pet seen.
It matters. A 2021 Royal Veterinary College VetCompass study found periodontal disease was diagnosed in 12.5% of dogs under UK primary veterinary care in a single year; a 2023 study found 15.2% of cats. These are population figures, not a statement about your pet.

New to an area
Recently moved, or living in a fast-growing city such as Dubai, where Zawya reports a new veterinary clinic opening nearly every third day.

What to ask before a dental procedure
Good practices welcome these questions. The answers tell you what care your pet will receive, and what it is likely to cost.
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| How will my pet be checked before anaesthesia, and who monitors them during it? | A full dental examination and cleaning below the gumline need a general anaesthetic. Pre-anaesthetic checks and dedicated monitoring are part of doing that safely. |
| Do you take dental X-rays? | Much of every tooth sits below the gumline. Dental X-rays show roots and bone that cannot be seen by looking. |
| Will the teeth be probed and charted? | Measuring around each tooth and recording the findings gives you, and your vet, a baseline for next time. |
| Can I have a written estimate, and will you call me before doing extra work? | The full picture is often clear only once your pet is under anaesthesia. Agreeing in advance how you will be contacted, and what the estimate covers, avoids surprises on the bill. |
| What aftercare should I expect? | Knowing about food, check-ups and when to restart brushing helps you plan the days afterwards. |
A word on anaesthesia-free cleaning. The American Animal Hospital Association's dental care guidelines describe non-anaesthetic dentistry for dogs and cats as not appropriate: a conscious animal cannot be cleaned below the gumline, X-rayed or probed, and a clean-looking surface can give a false sense of benefit.
The Petdentist Daily System
Step 5: Professional care
Clean, Support and Maintain happen at home. Monitor, with a weekly lip-lift and, in future, PetPulse Dental, helps you notice when something has changed. Professional Care is where a vet examines what home care cannot reach. A veterinary dental check at least once a year is part of the routine, never an alternative to it.
Standards and boundaries
What we do, and what only your vet can do
We do not provide veterinary services
Petdentist® does not provide veterinary services and does not endorse individual practices. A listing is not a recommendation; the choice of practice is yours.
Verified means checked, not rated
A verified profile shows that our team has checked the practice's listed details. It is not an assessment of the care the practice provides.
United Kingdom: "under care"
Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons guidance allows a vet to take an animal under their care without a physical examination in some circumstances, but only where in-person examination and 24/7 follow-up care are available. For dental problems, expect an in-person examination: a mouth cannot be properly assessed on screen.
United Arab Emirates
Under Federal Law No. 10 of 2002, only licensed veterinarians may practise veterinary medicine, including examination and diagnosis.
Nothing on petdentalclinics.com makes your pet a patient of a practice. That happens when a practice accepts your pet.
When to see your vet
If you notice loose or wobbly teeth, swelling, discharge, bleeding that does not settle, reluctance to eat, dropping food, drooling, pawing at the mouth or any change in behaviour, please contact your veterinary surgeon promptly. Home care supports professional care — it never replaces it.
For veterinary practices
List your practice
If your practice offers dental care in the UK, USA, Canada or UAE, you can claim or request a profile on petdentalclinics.com. Our team checks the details before a profile is marked verified, and you keep it up to date. A listing never implies endorsement by Petdentist®.
Questions people ask
Frequently asked questions
What is petdentalclinics.com?
It is the directory run by Petdentist CLINICS, listing veterinary practices that offer dental care in the UK, USA, Canada and UAE. You can search by location, read verified practice profiles and send an appointment request. The practices provide the veterinary care; Petdentist® does not provide veterinary services.
Does Petdentist® recommend the practices listed?
No. Petdentist® does not endorse individual practices, and a listing is not a recommendation. A verified profile means our team has checked the practice's listed details; it is not an assessment of the care the practice provides. Choosing a practice is your decision, and it is worth asking the questions on this page before any procedure.
How do I book an appointment through the directory?
Open the practice's profile and send an appointment request, or phone the practice directly. The practice then contacts you to arrange a time; a request is not a confirmed booking. If your pet needs help urgently, do not use a request form: phone the practice or your nearest emergency vet straight away.
What should I ask before my pet's dental procedure?
Ask how your pet will be checked before anaesthesia and monitored during it, whether dental X-rays are taken, whether the teeth will be probed and charted, what the written estimate includes, how you will be contacted if more work is needed, and what aftercare to expect. Good practices welcome these questions.
Is anaesthesia-free dental cleaning a good alternative?
The American Animal Hospital Association's dental care guidelines describe non-anaesthetic dentistry for dogs and cats as not appropriate. A conscious animal cannot have its teeth cleaned below the gumline, X-rayed or probed properly, and a clean-looking surface can give a false sense of benefit. Talk to your vet about anaesthetic safety instead.
How often should my pet have a dental check?
At least once a year as part of a routine veterinary examination, or as often as your vet advises; older pets and small-breed dogs may need checks more often. See your vet sooner if you notice loose teeth, swelling, bleeding that does not settle, dropping food or a change in the way your pet eats.
Which countries does the directory cover?
The United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and the United Arab Emirates. Coverage within each country depends on which practices have listed or verified their details, so if you cannot find a practice near you, your usual veterinary practice is always the right first call.
Our practice offers dental care. How do we join?
Visit our page for veterinary professionals, or email [email protected] with your practice name, address and the dental services you offer. Our team checks the details before a profile is marked as verified, and your practice keeps it up to date. A listing never implies endorsement by Petdentist®.
