Education, not veterinary care

Everything on this site — articles, guides, routine suggestions, FAQs, tools and product descriptions — is general educational information about pet oral hygiene. It is not veterinary advice, it does not diagnose or treat any condition, and it cannot replace an examination by a veterinary surgeon who has seen your animal. In the United Kingdom only veterinary surgeons may diagnose and treat animals (Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966); in the United Arab Emirates only licensed veterinarians may do so (Federal Law No. 10 of 2002).

Our founder

Dr Deepak Songra BDS is a human dental surgeon registered with the UK General Dental Council (GDC 68552). He is not a veterinary surgeon. His work applies established human oral biology and preventative care principles to pet home care — alongside, never instead of, veterinary care.

Our products

Petdentist® products are non-medicinal oral-hygiene products, accessories and complementary feeds for healthy animals. They are designed to support normal daily oral hygiene. They are not veterinary medicines and are not presented for the treatment or prevention of any disease. If your pet has a health condition, is pregnant, is on medication or is very young, ask your vet before introducing any new product. Follow the pack serving guidance by body weight; never guess.

Technology

PetPulse tools help you notice and record changes in your pet's mouth over time. They do not diagnose, grade or treat; their outputs are observations to share with your vet.

Warning signs

If you notice loose or wobbly teeth, swelling, discharge, bleeding that does not settle, reluctance to eat, dropping food, drooling, pawing at the mouth or any change in behaviour, contact your veterinary surgeon promptly. Difficulty breathing, collapse or uncontrolled bleeding is an emergency.

Sources and updates

Where we cite statistics or studies, we name the source and grade the evidence. Science changes; pages carry their last review date and are updated as evidence develops.
